Continuing Education and License Renewals for Georgia Marriage and Family Therapists

27 Aug

Georgia marriage and family therapists have a license renewal every two years with a deadline of September 30th, even years.  35 hours of board-approved continuing education are required to renew a license.  10 hours of continuing education are allowed for home study courses.  The board recognizes The Association of Social Work Boards, The National Board of Certified Counselors, and The American Psychological Association as continuing education providers for Georgia marriage and family therapists.

The main objective of continuing education is to assure high standards for the practice of marriage and family therapy.  It requires licensees to participate in additional educational activities that can increase knowledge and competence earned through education.

Professional Development Resources is approved by The American Psychological Association, The Association of Social Work Boards, and The National Board of Certified Counselors to sponsor continuing education for marriage and family therapists.  Professional Development Resources maintains all responsibility for content and programs.  Georgia marriage and family therapists can earn 10 hours of continuing education hours through online coursework provided at http://www.pdresources.org.
